Adoption is what people see. It only works because of the five quieter programs holding it up — the foster homes, the traps, the kibble table and the vets who let us book at dawn.
Start wherever you are
Looking for a dog? Start with adoption. Have a spare room and no long-term plans? Fostering. Feeding a cat behind your building? That is a trap-neuter-return conversation, and a friendly one.
Not sure which one?
Send one message describing your household — kids, stairs, other pets, hours away from home — and a volunteer will point you at the right program. No form-filling required first.
Every foster dog gets a morning walk, which is how half of our adopters first meet one.
Ways to help
None of this needs a résumé
If you have an afternoon, a car or a spare room, there is a job here with your name on it. Training takes about twenty minutes and involves at least one dog.
- Foster for two weeks over a school break.
- Drive a carrier from a clinic to a foster home.
- Photograph adoptable animals so their profiles do them justice.
- Bag kibble on pantry Saturdays.
- Lend a garage for trap storage between TNR nights.
