Before you visit

Six things worth knowing

Parking

A small lot behind the building, plus street parking on the surrounding blocks.

The door

Look for the yellow door on West 38th. It is level with the sidewalk.

Bring the household

Everyone who lives with you, including the resident dog, on a leash.

What to expect

Pens, volunteers in mismatched shirts, and absolutely no pressure to take anybody home.

Kids

Very welcome. We will tell you which animals enjoy small humans and which would rather not.

Accessibility

Step-free entry and a wide aisle inside; ask a volunteer if you need a quieter corner.
